Now it’s much easier to see what is on Screen/Society’s Fall 2009 Lineup and where it’s playing on campus.
A big event post-fall break is the workshop with Ram Loevy, one of Israel’s most famous and distinguished filmmakers. The workshop is on Monday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. in the Richard White Lecture Hall on East Campus.

Matt and Kim are coming to Duke Oct. 16 to play Stuedabakerbrown as part of the Duke University Union’s Countdown to Craziness. The show follows the annual Blue-and-White scrimmage and will be held on the K-ville green. Set for 9:30 p.m. rain or shine, the show is free and open to the general public.
We tweeted this a couple weeks ago, but Piedmont is hosting a dance party at 10:30 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 2. But this isn’t just Piedmont filling the George’s late-night void. No. There’s some musical oomph behind this event in the form of the event’s disc jockey, known as DJ Blowing Rock. Who is that, you ask? None other than artist/Durham resident/Les Savy Fav’sHarrison Haynes. Sure, it’s fall break for Duke, but for anyone around, definitely check it out.
UPDATE: In unrelated but other cool LSF news, Les Savy Fav is on the Twitter.
Quick bit: Bombadil released a Daytrotter set today and you can check it out here. The band played three tracks from their 2009 release Tarpits and Canyonlands and one from A Buzz, A Buzz.
