Highland Falls, a new television drama written, produced, directed and acted by a class of Duke students, will air tonight at 9 p.m. on Cable 13. Visiting Theater Studies Professor Michael Malone, formerly the head writer of soap opera One Life to Live, and lecturing Theater Studies fellow Elisabeth Benfey have instructed the 40-person class in their development of a full season of television.
The show, based on the 1920s novel “An American Tragedy” by Theodore Dreiser, follows transfer student Chase Griffith in his first days at his new home, Dreiser University. He interacts with his spoiled legacy cousin Grant and fawns over the mysterious and beautiful Skylar Finchley. You will also be able to watch the show on YouTube the day after each 15-minute episode airs.
You can view the trailer here (editors note: familiar faces from Recess are involved).
