Rolling Stone Continues to Strive for Relevance

The increasingly desperate Rolling Stone just released its top 50 albums of 2008. Bon Iver barely cracked the top 30, and TV on the Radio took the top spot, followed by Bob Dylan, Lil Wayne, My Morning Jacket and John Mellencamp. Yes. John Cougar Mellencamp.
Bon Iver barely cracked the top 30, a clear sign that Rolling Stone’s critics have no taste in music. For better more Justin Vernon-loving year end lists, check the recess top 10 lists.

Just want to point out Ne-Yo ranked higher than The Hold Steady. Congratulations to Ne-Yo; suck it Kevin Lincoln.

Someone’s sore, Alex, someone’s sore. I think it would be fun to see how many of us had top 5′s that got completely shafted by Rolling Stone. Me: 1. Alopecia, 2. VW, 3. Frightened Rabbit, 4. Hold Steady, 5. Titus Andronicus. What’s that? Two shared albums? Hey, thanks Rolling Stone!
And I dunno about you guys, but who the hell is the Knux? I mean, it’s nice that they’re throwing a bone to hip-hop, finally, but not Jeezy, not Bun B, not T.I., not the Cool Kids, not Q-Tip… the Knux. Okcoolthnxbai.
